Ingredients

  

1 clove of minced garlic ($0.05)

1 pound of ground beef ($1.49)

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1 teaspoon oregano ($0.05)

15 ounces tomato sauce ($1.00)

8 ounces pasta (I like penne, but whatever you have on hand, really) ($0.50)

1 cup sour cream ($1.00)

3 ounces cream cheese ($0.56)

4 ea green onions ($0.25)

1 cup shredded cheese ($0.62)

 

Total: $5.52

 

Directions

 

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  In a large skillet, brown ground beef and drain off fat.  Add minced garlic and sautee for a few seconds.  Mix in tomato sauce, salt, pepper and oregano.  Let this simmer.

 

 

Prepare pasta per package directions.  Drain.  Add to meat mixture.  Let simmer.  Mix together sour cream and cream cheese and add to pasta and meat concoction.  Pour into casserole dish top with shredded cheese.  Bake for 20 to 30 minutes.  

Serve with salad.
